Who are you when you’re finally free?

NATHANIEL ALDEN
Nate has no magic, no illusions, and no safe exits — only the resolve to stay when leaving would be easier.
A survivor shaped by abandonment and restraint, Nathaniel stands on the fault line between loyalty and self-erasure —and must decide how much of himself he is willing to sacrifice to keep others from becoming monsters.
Raised without protection and shaped by instability, Nate learned early that systems fail and promises break. He survives through wit, adaptability, and an instinctive loyalty to individuals rather than causes.
Where others are driven by power or ideology, Nate is driven by connection. He remains when it would be safer to flee, chooses empathy over strategy, and carries risk as if it were his natural state.
Beneath the humour and resilience lies a quieter truth: Nate has never believed himself irreplaceable — only useful. And so he gives himself away, again and again, to keep others standing.
In a world ruled by magic and control, Nate’s defiance is simple: he refuses to abandon the people he loves.

The world decides what you are.
What you become is something else entirely.
